Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a 2022 action-adventure turn-based strategy video game. The game is a crossover between Nintendo's Mario and Ubisoft's Rabbids franchises and is a sequel to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (2017) and second installment of the Mario + Rabbids series.

My work
Lead Level Designer of the game. It consisted on managing the level design team and also doing the World Level Design Director for the exploration planets as there were no LD Director on this part of the game. I arrived in the middle of the production so the conception work was already done, but I helped clarifying the exploration experience and adapt the world to that.

I also worked on the two DLCs containing each a new planet.

  • Designing the world regions, content, locations and systems.
  • Defining world building pipeline and guidelines for the level designers.
  • Reviewing worlds built by the Paris and Chengdu world building team.
  • Clarifying the overall distribution of ingredients in the worlds according to difficulty and variety intentions.
